Not another food blogger blogging about food

Ok here I am back blogging about food though I am not a food blogger. Food is something that I am passionate about and I felt so guilty not saying something great about the restaurants that I have been that served up really great food and the bad ones too. If you feel like reading more please read thru :)

Lets start from May 2013

Ok, there are 2 birthdays and Mothers' day celebrations for me in that month. I have written about my buffet lunch experience in Contango and here is the other not so good experience at Mandarin Palace, Federal Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Ok I have had plenty of lunches and dinners previously in the Mandarin Palace and as I am always looking for good deal, I always opt for their "yum lay sek". The previous experience was good that was a few years ago. So finally, a birthday celebration came up and we decided to go back there. We were hugely disappointed eventhough its still "yum lay sek" style the concept is all wrong. Previously for a table of 8 pax when we ordered dishes we request for small/medium (2-4 pax) so that we could try out more dishes. However, my previous trip we weren't allow to do that and one order must be for 8 pax. If that's the case how are we gonna sample the other dishes. Previously, the soup came in a bowl per person and now they must cook for 8 pax. I find that the deal is not genuine and eventhough they claimed to serve up 48 dishes, even for a table of 8 pax the max we could sample was 5 to 6 dishes. We were told that the dessert was soya bean and some jelly but at the end of our meal which is around 8.30pm nothing were left and they do not even bother to refill them!!!!! The verdict we are not going back there again to eat the buffet..... not ever and ever :(

June 2013 - we tried out so many new and delightful restaurants :)

First experience was at the Soup Restaurant in One Utama. We passed by this restaurant so many times but did not bother to try out as we always ended up in either Dave's (90 out of 100 times ha! ha!) This time my husband said "NO" more Dave we should try some other restaurants instead but I said I really really like the ham and pineapple pizza wor! We were surprised with the calm ambience this restaurant offered and the food is really good something like "Ying Ker Lou" but different. I decided to take some pictures of it.

The chicken with the special ginger/garlic sauce, the spinach, honey pork ribs and soup are really nice :) so yummy and we will definitely return :)

Bon-Ga Korean Restaurant in Sri Petaling

We passes by this restaurant so often and being Korean food lovers :) we must stopped by. We took the opportunity to try out since I saw in some blogs that their food is really good. We liked it, the bbq meat was fresh tasty and what we love most of all is the chilli rice cake :) so yummy....... and it brought back memories of my hubby and I when we were in Sydney standing outside a shop on Pitt street on a winter afternoon feeling so cold saw a small korean stall selling rice cake. The taste of it that warms our stomach and body was so great :) Love this place and will definitely go back for their rice cakes and side dishes. However, they bbq the meat in their kitchen and not in front of us :(

Duck Village @ The Gardens

Ok, this is the last of the memorable restaurants that we tried out for the month. It was new and we told ourselves a month back that we must try coz duck is our favorite food. I guess when you read my blog up to hear you will find that we do have many many favorite foods :) and not many pictures of the food. As I said earlier I am not a food blogger so by the time I ate the food that was served in front of me it would be too late for me to take the pictures ha! ha! Ok to sum up we love the food, we had the fried duck that comes with the popiah skin, deep fried seedweed with meat floss, beancurd, meat skewer and seafood fried rice. One word to sum up its delicious the fried rice is nice it was garnish with fish roe and it is so super delicious :) the meat skewer we ordered 2 portions of that too....... Then after eating I realised that the name of the restaurant is so familiar so I asked them if there have a branch and if its in Bangsar and bingo there said its true. I have been to that restaurant maybe 2 years ago but it doesn't give me that impact not like this time. My verdict..... yes I will return for more meat skewer :) and flied rice :)
